Hello friends,
We had quite the day at the San Diego Zoo. We walked the zoo for the good part of the day, seeing toucans, anacondas, hippos, zebras, foxes, ostriches, rhinoceros, and many more animals, including my favorite: the capybaras! I wish capybaras were part of the petting zoo instead of dung beetles and other insects, which just whet my appetite. Every thing was going well until Gummy failed to watch where he was going as he fiddled with the camera and fell into a tiger cage. He was carrying a ham from a snack stand and the tiger thought it was feeding time. Gave Gummy quite the scare. Really hurt his pride to be a canine running from a feline. He made it out OK, minus his wounded pride and now being short a honey ham. A zoo keeper retrieved the camera for us. Got this great shot in the fall.
Later on we visited Balboa Park for the Twilight in the Park concert, "145th Street" with their contemporary blues. Made me want to play with my jazz band, The Skeletones . Gummy, Runny, Sunny and I have been practicing a new set for the rest of the evening, to Melody's delight and Joe Miller's annoyance. He's more of rap or country guy, maybe?
