20 Halloween Party Games for Kids
A party can feel huge to kids even when the games are made from cups, paper, balloons and a little imagination.
A good Halloween party game has three things going for it: the rules are easy to explain, nobody waits too long for a turn, and losing does not ruin the fun. Most of these can be adjusted for a living room, classroom or backyard.
For mixed ages, create teams with older and younger kids together. That keeps the competition friendly and gives little kids someone to copy.

Mummy Wrap Relay
Teams race to wrap one volunteer in toilet paper or crepe paper. Give points for speed, funniest mummy and best pose.
Pumpkin Bowling
Stack plastic cups as pins and roll a small round pumpkin or orange ball toward them.
Witch Hat Ring Toss
Make cone-shaped hats from cardstock or use party hats, then toss glow bracelets or rope rings over them.
Spider Web Obstacle Course
Stretch yarn between chairs at different heights and challenge kids to move through the web without touching it.
Monster Freeze Dance
Play Halloween music. When it stops, everyone freezes in their scariest or silliest monster pose.
Eyeball Spoon Race
Carry a ping-pong “eyeball” on a spoon from one end of the room to the other without dropping it.
Pin the Smile on the Jack-o’-Lantern
A pumpkin version of the classic party game. Use removable tape instead of pins.
Ghost Hunt
Hide paper ghosts around the room. Kids collect them, with bonus points for a few specially marked ghosts.
Monster Charades
Act out Halloween characters, animals and actions such as “zombie brushing its teeth” or “bat eating spaghetti.”
Candy Corn Guessing Jar
Fill a clear jar with wrapped candy or pompoms. Everyone writes down a guess; closest wins the jar or a small prize.
Pumpkin Pass
Pass a mini pumpkin around a circle while music plays. When music stops, that player does a funny Halloween challenge.
Skeleton Bone Hunt
Hide paper “bones” and have teams collect enough pieces to assemble a full skeleton.
Balloon Ghost Stomp
Draw ghost faces on white balloons and tie them loosely near players’ ankles. The goal is to protect your ghost while popping others.

Toss beanbags, plastic spiders or soft balls into a bucket or cauldron from different distances.
Halloween Bingo
Make bingo cards with simple Halloween pictures or words. Candy corn or paper pumpkins can be the markers.

Assign a monster body part to each number on a die. Players roll, then draw that part until their creature is complete.
